Looks like the Honda Grom will be available in August for $2999, 130mpg, and is starting to look super slick..

The guys at MO wrote up about it, sharing it here.. enjoy:

The Honda Grom is described as a “recreational model with a 125cc engine that conjures up extreme riding”. That’s pretty much all we know about the unusually-named Grom. Based on the description, it’s possible the Grom is the Japanese market name for the already-announced MSX125, a modern version of the Honda Monkey Bike already announced for Europe.

Very cool. Happy riding!

Hey Joe, I believe that is a Honda CRF250M you have there as the picture. Still a nice picture for a second there I thought wow the Honda Grom has a black and gold theme too? But when I put on my glasses I realized it was a Honda Motard.

Here yah go Joe!

hmm I thought the Honda Grom was dues for release in November as mentioned in another article. But the earlier the better. August is still in the summer so we could still put in some good riding time on the Gom.

Thanks for the great news. So glad I could see the devil in the red dress earlier ;)

Quite a few sources say August 2013, which is great news as those that live in the northern states can enjoy their Grom's before the cold winter weather hits. If it released in November, the wait for nice weather would be horrible!

130mpg~!

That is some awesome mileage.

Starting price for the 2014 GROm is confirmed at $3k. Can't wait till these hit the market. It'll make people think otherwise of lower CC bikes. Making the 125 cool again :D HorsePower isn't everything

I wonder if there will be any differences between the Asian MSX125 and the North American GROM?

Please say it ain't so!

I would have to look in to renting out a factory or even a indoor go cart arena if that is the case. that will keep us busy if there is snow outside. what do you guys think?

If I lived any closer to my work I would love to take advantage of the MPGs on the Grom but since I do commute on the highway I wouldn't take the chance.

Any word on the Grom being available any earlier than August?
That's a tough one, one thing for sure is that a lot of sources have confirmed August as the release month for the Grom in north america. Seeing how these bikes are already available in Thailand as the MSX125, it's possible that Honda could speed up the process and get them to us by mid to late july, but don't expect it.

Late to the riding season but it's never too late! Just enough time to get a hang of it and figure out what you want. Then christmas time you can spend all your dough on parts and have them ready for 2014 summer :D

Better late than never. At least its not smack dab in the winter time. I am sure some will find an alternative and ride it indoors somewhere.

Has any one actually gone in and inquired about the Grom yet?
