first practice day of njminigp was yesterday. my buddy took my grom out for a session and I ran around behind him
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BorH9GOvLRs]chasing my grom around njminigp 4/6/2014 practice 4 - YouTube[/ame]

suspension and tires are dreadful. not confidence inspiring at all. chatter and bouncing. need to buy those asap. (and i'm going down a bit in tire sizes for improved handling)

oh and then another friend got plowed by a crf that blew a corner. broke the stock garbage peg mount. so rearsets ordered from hardracing :)

That really does look like a lot of fun, but I'd probably just pick up a CRF100 or similar instead of subjecting my Grom to it.

Well from what I hear Groms do take going down pretty well, but I just like the idea of having something dedicated to track use that I wouldn't mind so much if I scrape up. CRF is going to be lighter anyways.

I have a stock hundo as well (that's what I was riding) and the nsr50 which i'm fastest on.
grom was made for this. with tires and suspension, it will DOMINATE the 125cc class.

I own and race both stock hundo and nsr. the grom is faster than both. and also has a spec class in our org. and it's faster.
as far as scraping it up? it's pretty cheap to fix. or not fix. just like the nsr, it just keeps going. except stupid oem peg bracket which was probably manufactured in a cave somewhere out of recycled soda cans...
basically it's like this. on the grom even while quite worried about the garbage tires and pogosticks, I could still hang with the faster guys on crfs.
