not very apparently. the seat is pretty stiff.

Not really meant for commuting though it could be done. Not sure about a long commute though. There are likely better alternatives.

What is the definition of long commute. 5 miles to work, 10? Or are you suggesting a commute to the cottage?

I rode 60 miles on my ducati superbike to work today, roasted my legs the whole way there. anythings got to be better than this bike for commuting.

I'm hoping the Grom will be good for an 8 mile commute on twisty back roads. I currently commute on a Yamaha Vino scooter. I'm hoping the Grom will go a little faster up hills and handle the bumps a bit better.

Seems to be a pretty stiff seat but you would need to get a nice comfy seat if it is too far....

I don't know how big the engine is in your vino, but if you have the 49cc version then the Grom should have almost triple the power and torque so would definitely handle the trip better. The manual transmission and clutch should boost power delivery and efficiency in either case.
