Seems like you are always hearing about people getting their bike’s stolen these days.

Mine is in the garage at home, locked to a concrete anchor.

I also have a Scorpio alarm with GPS, just in case, while I'm out, someone decides to toss it into the back of their van or truck, my i-phone will notify me, it's been taken and where it is.

Since it seems like if people want it bad enough, they're going to get it. At least this way, I can try to track them down.

So just wondering what you guy’s do ?

I know, I know... that's what insurance is for.
But, losing my bike would be almost as bad as losing my dog.

Just in the garage... There is only one way to get into my garage and it wont be quiet doing it.. So if you wake me up, and I am a VERY light sleeper, I will probably end up shooting first and asking questions later

I have thought about the whole alarm system thing but is is really worth it?? If I get an alarm I might as well go all out and get a remote stater haha

I live in a condo, so I plan to lock the frame to a pillar at the very least. Not sure what to do for when I'm out and about though. I've seen some pretty brave thefts in broad daylight when parking on the street on youtube. Something like a disc

Insurance will take care of you lol but I ALWAYS lock my handle bars, havent bought any other type of alarm or lock set up yet, but we will see.

Fork locks are really just there to make you feel good; thieves can break them in seconds without any special tools and wheel the bike off.

Im never far enough from my bike that it would matter. Its either very close to me or in the garage. The only way to get it out would be to move my truck... which would be a mission.

Obviously, something like an angle grinder is still going to get through it. So potentially, they are still going to take off with it in under 10 mins easy. But it should at least be a deterrent against less serious thieves. Bolt cutters would have a rough time getting through it at least.

I live in a low-crime area and don't do anything special. I do keep it in the garage though and when I go shopping I park in front where the security cameras and lots of people are. Just never had a problem in 40 years. I don't carry insurance except

insurance does NOT take care of you if your bike is stolen! It takes at least 30 days for a check, which will not be enough to buy a new bike, and since you will probably have a deductible, you will need to pony up $100-$1000 to afford that used bike

Your insurance will not pay what you consider a fair price and probably won't cover any of your modifications.

Always use a disk lock, with a coiled cable-reminder attached to your throttle. Even if parking in front of a store. The disk lock takes a while to defeat and helps most casual criminals.
A cover is a good idea for when you're away from the bike for a while. And a thick chain and expensive lock, to lock the bike to an immovable object is the best. An alarm is nice, but I've found they give off too many false alarms. I wouldn't say they're worthless, but you should at least have a good lock and cover if you have to park your bike in public areas or parking garages (apartments or work) to be safe and not have to deal with an insurance company trying to cut you a check for $4700 on your brand new Grom 125 that you paid almost $7000 OTD.
