Thought I'd start a thread for Grom girls/ladies to find out who we are in the forum.

Feel free to share info about yourself here if you'd like.

Me: Born and raised in Hawaii, lived in Cali for several years, returned home, then relocated to Colorado.

Newbie to riding. Got my "M" in 2009. Rode for a very short time (it was winter when I rode) on a Yamaha SRX250. Haven't ridden since.

Currently work at a Ducati, BMW and Triumph dealership as a Rider Gear Sales Specialist. Aside from these three brands, we also sell products from Sidi, Revit, Klim, Gerbings (heated gear), Shoei, Arai, Schuberth, and more. Let me know if you guys have questions about motorcycle gear, helmets and accessories -- I'd be glad to assist.

Was thinking of getting an older Ninja 250 (shorter seat height) but after learning about the Grom, I've got my eyes set on it and can't wait to get one! Hoping to learn and possibly venture out into doing some tricks on it. :D

Looking forward to meeting other girl/lady riders out there!!!

Hi FunSize! I'm a Grom girl too... or a Grom girl wannabe. I saw the Grom at Laguna Seca during the MotoGP races and had to keep visiting it. It's so cute, and I'm sure I could have silly fun on it! I've been riding for 14 years in California, and currently have a 125 Yamaha Vino scooter and a Ducati Monster 796. I just sold my Ninja 250 and I miss it.

I'm already dreaming of getting a red Honda Grom to commute to work, about 8 miles on back roads. I'm sure I'll have more fun on it than the Vino :) And I want to learn how to do wheelies!

Hi LittleZZ! Nice to meet you!

I agree! It's a cute bike (sorry guys) and I too, want to do wheelies and stoppies too! :D

I will most likely get my Grom in Sept or Oct as it becomes available at my local dealership.

You should get one so we can swap stories! ;)

Hi FunSize,

What are you riding now? And what are your Grom plans? I'm hoping to check it out at the dealer, and if it can go up hills better than my scooter, I'll be hooked! I'm hoping they will let me test ride it...

Unfortunately, no bike at the mo. I'm still waiting for the Honda dealership to call me when their first shipment arrives so I can see it up close and personal :)

Hiya Grom Gals. Raindragon here in the Houston, Texas, area checkin' in. I'm a gal with only a few short years before retirement from being a junior high teacher & I'm over the moon excited about my red Grom which should be "in my hands & under my butt" by the end of this month. I've been riding since my early twenties. First bike was a very used & abused Honda 90 (vintage ? late 60's, I think) that I rode through the northern California hills till the rear wheel literally fell off. DUH! That was before I knew you had to do more than just put gas in a bike & go. Since then I've owned (and properly maintained) a Yamaha 350, Yamaha 650 Maxim, BMW R 850R, Yamaha Dual Sport and a Victory Kingpin. In March of 2011, I was in a serious accident (at my job in school when two boys running in the empty hallways rounded a corner and collided with me) that left me with a concussion, a mangled left hip sacro illiac joint, and dislocated discs (Lumbar 4 & 5) which have caused me to be plagued with sciatica. I knew my bike riding days were over since I could no longer support the weight of my BMW or Kingpin at stops on my messed up left leg. I sold my bikes and purchased a Can Am Spyder trike, which is a bark-o-lounger on wheels. It's fine for being "in the wind" and not having to worry about supporting it on my bad leg or tumping it, but it is NOT a motorcycle because you cannot counter steer. You literally "drive" it like an ATV. So, I've been really missing the feeling of leaning into corners & carving up the back roads like I used to do. When I saw a picture of and read about the Grom, I knew I had to have one! I made a few phone calls and put a deposit down on one a red one that very day. Riding a motorcycle is the best form of therapy I have encountered in my 60 years here on Planet Earth. I'm so looking forward to 'getting my Grom on' here soon!

Hi all

Grom girl to be here.. I get mine this Saturday in Austin, TX.

My fiance rides and I have had other BFs ride sport bikes and have a long history of being a passenger. I really had no interest in riding until I saw the Grom. It's so much less intimidating than a full sport bike. I completed the MSF riding course last weekend and got my M endorsement yesterday.

I super stoke and can't wait to put some miles on it. :)
