Hello everyone. My name is Johnny and I'll be 26 on the 27th of this month. I plan on getting the Grom as my first motorcycle. In late June I got my motorcycle permit and took my dad's 1980 Mini Trail 70 (with a 100 swap, now with a 150 swap!) out as my first ride ever on the streets, legally. I had a blast.

I have been a Honda automotive enthusiast since I got my first car at age 14 which was a 90 Civic Si. Ever since then I have enjoyed modifying and learning about cars and drag racing as well as some circuit racing.

I've had an increasing interest in motorcycles over the last year and when I heard about the Grom in May I knew this was aligning very well with my increasing interest, being a Honda enthusiast, an attractive price point, and a good first bike to learn fundamentals on as well as being flat out FUN!

Well that's about all, plan on finally making my way to a dealer to talk to them about placing a deposit on a red Grom and hope to get it sometime this year ;)

welcome!

I wish I had my first car when I was 14, do you still have the 90 civic si? If so I'd love to see what condition it's in right now.

keep us posted on the grom you will be getting
I no longer have the 90 Civic Si. I threw a turbo on it when I was 16 and had loads of fun with it and ended up selling it about a year or so after boosting it.

Thanks! Yes I have some pics of the cars. I'll post them down below!

I would have loved to have owned a 90' civic si. I just find that Honda's are so versatile compared to other cars. The engines run and last like no other.

You have a GSR swap in that EG? Pics?
The 90 Civic Si was great to own and especially as a first car. I learned so much wrenching on that thing since it was my first time to really wrench on my own stuff. I've learned valuable information that I still use when modifying my cars to this day.

Here's a pic of my daily driver - 07 Civic Si Sedan

And my EG which I drag race a lot, and have done one HPDE track day event in (loads of fun). I bought the car bone stock from a junkyard. Just had an old blown up D15 in it. Replaced with a nice JDM B18C powerplant from HMotorsOnline (The best in the business). Current best quarter mile is 13.7 @ 102. Here's a vid from last year - running 13.9 @ 100.

Congratulations on the grom deposit slowman!
Your vid is great! Drag Racing is such a rush! I haven't been to the track in a long time but your vid may get me to fire up the busa and head over to the track for some passes on test and tune night. :D
