Well heres the deal, let a friend borrow the grom for the day. Went to take the ferry to st john and the seas were pretty rough, the grom got splashed with quite a bit of saltwater. All the other bikes fired up but the little grom justcranks.

I pulled the injector, its getting fuel.

Pulled the plug and checked spark, very weak and intermittant!

Coil? Plug? Im going to toss a new plug in it and take a hair dryer to the coil in a couple hrs, any other ideas?

remove the air filter or if you mod the air filter check for water in it. Charge up the battery/ install or attach a second battery jumper to the first battery and leave the air filter off and start the Grom.

Once the Grom starts remove the jumper battery and place a DC volt meter across the battery terminal and it should read about 13.5-14V dc this is the check that the charging system is working. If the Grom warms up ok let it run for about two minutes and shut the Grom off.

Wait about 5 minutes and start again and if it starts go to the following below.

Put the air filter system back on and start up the Grom again to make sure it runs ok and do a short test run around the neighborhood to make sure the Grom runs ok in all speed and gear.

Good LUCK

yep, but they do ask what happened plus a lot of Honda reps etc do go onto chat lines/computers etc and do read postings.
that is why I would have just brought it straight to the dealer.

don't want them to investigate and find out it was your fault :(
