I don't feel the need for it. It makes it look ugly.
Not a fan of it. Anything that will block the headlamp at all I'd be against.
And it makes the bike heavier..
Not a bad piece makes the grom look like a little derby bike. I could see a bunch of guys getting this. Its a different style.
I'm just trying to figure out what it protects it from? Even if it falls over the handles would take most of the grunt.

But for the 225lbs weight of the bike and the 125cc engine size, I guess it does make a very small different.
