I've been researching bikes for a while but usually with atleast 300 to 500CC. I just happened to see a review on this and this bike has caught my interest, despite being much smaller than the bikes I've been looking at lately. Now I'm wondering what other bikes are direct competitors to this little bike. What else is good out there?

As far as I know Honda is the only manufacturer of these kind of bikes. I think monkey bikes are its closest relative and they were pretty popular back in the 60s and 70s. I would consider the grom a resurgence of those kind of bikes.

I haven't found much competition out there unless I am looking in the wrong place. Sharing the same displacement as the grom I only find the Zuma 125 and that would be better competitor for the Honda Ruckus. Any body have any others to chime in?

The Yamaha Zuma 125 I would say is more of a scooter comparable to the Honda Ruckus. If anything is close it's the engine displacement.

Just looks like a beefed up bicycle with a motor. Doesn't surprise me that the Chinese had some doing with it. Very plain but it does have it's own unique look. But no thanks I'll stick with the Honda Grom.
