Honda Grom Extended Warranty Pricing

Heard back from my dealer and wanted to share the various standard and extended warranty options for our Groms. I know most of us are obviously planning on never needing a warranty and doing our own work :) but you never know what could break, especially on a newer model.

If you decide you need an extended warranty on the Honda Grom, the pricing is as follows (USD, east coast pricing from a powerhouse dealer):

12 Extra Months - $260
24 Extra Months - $310
36 Extra Months - $400
48 Extra Months - $500

These are Honda's Care Protection Plan packages which go in addition to the 1 year standard warranty that they come with.

From the dealer: "This is a Genuine Honda Factory Warranty with Zero Deductibles and No Mileage Limitations. It covers everthing that the normal Factory Warranty covers. (Defects in Workmanship - Entire vehicle) The Honda warranty and extended warranty is valid at any Honda Powersports dealer."

Enjoy, and now to go back to my father's day!

We get 2 year warranty as standard, along with two years road-side recovery from the AA (our version of AAA) so, comparing prices as above, looks like we get about GBP175 of warranty cover and about GBP100 for AA cover within our prices.

Dear Honda, why do we get less warranty, lots of love, Joe.

Seriously why does the UK get a longer warranty? Not that we will need it but still.. Is that something legal or is it just how Honda UK does things? Pardon my us ignorance on this lol

No legal requirement to offer any sort of warranty, but it is usual to give 1 year / x miles on vehicles. My Nissan comes with 36 month / unlimited miles. A certain South Korean brand comes with 7 years / 100,000 mile warranty.

Chrysler lasts until the end of the driveway of the dealer . . . . . ha ha ha ha!

BTW, nearly all of the Chrysler's here are Korean built. My Nissan is built in the North of England in a place called Sunderland and the quality is so good, they get exported back to Japan!

The MSX/Gromda is built in Thailand, as we know. No such thing as a national car manufacturer these days!

Sunderland is near the water right? Went to the UK years ago and remember driving on the east side of the island and that city sounds familiar.

I've never had good luck with Chrysler either. I'm generally a Honda or acura person. Once dabbled with a BMW car 330xi that was a huge mistake. Got to stick with what I know..

I don't think ANYWHERE is more than 120 miles from the water. What we can't understand is people living in a Country all their lives and never see the sea!

Yo ho ho and a bottle of wobbly water, as Ruckusdriver would say :)

Jeff
It's funny, I've been on some very UK heavy member forums and I always was jealous of the local meets. They all get together for a pint every few days. I join them in spirit remotely lol but you're right a small isle makes it easy to get from side to side. I meant that particular city is right on the water if I remember right.

Wobbly pops!
Sounds more like an outing from the Old Peoples Home (or whatever the politically correct expression is these days!)

How did you find that picture of me?

I was the one that took the picture then stole the other tinnies (see right wheel, or didn't you spot they had gone?)

I didn't, actually. I couldn't tell who it was taking my shot with all the "wobbly pops" (there you go Ruckus) that I had that day.

Can I have my wheel back now?

At the prices the extended warranty is at I think it's a no brainer that this is something people must get.

12 Extra Months - $260
24 Extra Months - $310
36 Extra Months - $400
48 Extra Months - $500

Even at $500...for 4 years you're worry-free. I can see myself going for the 24 month warranty term since I don't plan on owning this bike for too long.
I would just go for the 48 months honestly $500 is nothing and will clear up a head ache if the Grom ever needs some serious maintenance.
Does not seem too bad for costs. Though I do wonder what all it would cover.
Warranty because they are less likely to drive like maniacs? (do not look up isle of man TT)
not a terrible idea for people who plan on doing a lot of calmer miles. I'll be thrashing mine, so not much point for me.
I have almost never needed wareenty on any motor vehicle.

Hondas are made very good, I have never needed anything fixed on my Honda Civic, and 6 new Honda motorcycles.

My new 1975 Camera needed a wiper motor, that was fixed in 1 hour on vacation.
