I mean to some its hard to accept but Honda is trying something new here. The name "Grom" means thunder in some slavic language. Just something different rather than just going with letters and the displacement of the bike.

I am sure some will have a dazed when they hear the name Grom but once they see the bike in person they will soon forget about the name and instead want to go for a ride and be stuck looking at what this small scaled bike is capable of.

Till this day I think the best name that Honda ever gave out to any bike or motorcycle was the Honda "Ruckus". The Honda Grom is pretty much a sexed up scooter but will out run and out perform any scooter or moped around.

MSX125 does sound much better than "Grom" not sure where the name grom came from but it's definitely not a name that is suitable for a bike.

They should have came up with something cool like what Kawasaki did, "Ninja" sounded pretty cool.

But if anyone asks me about the bike when I get it i'll tell them is a MSX125

Ruckus was the best name for that scooter, just looking at it and seeing what people have done to them, it definitely fits that "ruckus" image

Grom just might take some time to set it and we'll just get used to it.

I like how Honda names their bikes. I actually think the CBR lineup has a boring name.

Who doesn't like names like RUCKUS AND GROM?!

HONDA INSANE

Now that should be the next cool bike from them :D

In some parts of the world I'm sure some of you know The Grom is otherwise known as the MSX125. MSX stands for "Mini Street Xtreme" and the 125 is the displacement of the engine used.
Now that I know MSX stands for Mini Street Xtreme, it makes much more sense to me than Grom. I doubt Honda named their bike after the Slavic language.

at least they didn't name the Grom after a car they have. example of this is the Honda Integra.

If anything... The Grom and the way it was marketed would have been much better suited with the "Ruckus" name honestly.

Very true!

The Grom causes so much more Ruckus than the actual Honda ruckus itself.

Just from seeing how Honda is marketing the Grom it's a stunt machine more than a daily rider.

I agree, that name is much more fitting. Honda should do a name switch.
I totally agree with DirtyRider. Maybe they should consider changing the name to Honda Rage Ruckus or Ruckus X. That would be kinda cool.
