List reasons to buy the Honda GROM over a CBR125R/R125/YZF125 (popular starter bike)

I know I know. Different class of bikes. But still worth comparing.

Unless I'm mistaken, CBR125R, YZF125 and R125 are not available in the USA.

That's the only reason I'm not considering them. A CBR125R would probably be closer to my final dream Grom-build, so I'd probably just go with that, but it's not even a consideration, for obvious reasons.

I once visited Cebu and you scarcely saw a motorcycle above 150cc, and they were all manual-shifting, not like the scooters you see in that CC-class Stateside. (They also put neutral below 1st gear)

They are all small displacement beginner bikes except the grom which is a fun toy, hooligan mini bike.

Whenever I see a sport bike, I can't imagine it in a city or on anything other than pristine roads. The Grom is just that awesome all around style. It looks sporty, but it can take anything you throw at it, even ugly city streets.

GROM

It's like when Honda came out with the 1988 VLX-600. I took out all the Honda stickers and removed the Honda name from the rear seat and I went to one of these Harley HOG members event and a lot of the Harley guys came to admire the VLX-600 until they seen the Honda name on the engine case. It was a head turner in 1988 since there was not too many custom motorcycle with a 180 rear tire. Yes Honda brings back the FUN FACTOR.

You meet the nicest people on a HONDA
