I figured this would be the best place to come for advice since you guys are working with the same engine as stock on the Trail 125.

I'm getting my trail any day now and would like to have a top speed of around 65 with as little engine modification as possible.

I'd like to maintain good mileage so the 180 or 186 kits with bigger valves, intake, exhaust...etc is not where I want to go.

Is this realistic? 170cc kit, bigger injector, cam (possibly? would prefer not to), ECU tune, and some sprocket changes?

Or would I also need to mess with intake and exhaust?

Keep it simple. Start with just an ECU tune (re-flash) and an aftermarket exhaust. That might be enough. If necessary, change the drive sprocket to one tooth larger. You start getting into the big bucks if you go beyond those items.
