Not sure if this really counts as a how to.

I am really interested in a new exhaust but I am waiting for a domestic vendor and a belly style exhaust. Until that time comes around I have decided the best thing to do is to modify the stock exhaust.

Here is an imgur album with descriptions

Grom Exhaust Mod - Imgur

Final Product.

Here is a video of the first mod I did by drilling holes

Here is the final mod video with on board , drive by, dash facing drive angle and walk around.

this is not something I would do, I think it sounds alright at the lower RPM range, we'll have to hear how it sounds in the higher range.

Not bad, sound clip?

I just dont want to hack my stock parts up so that I can put it back to stock in the future.
Yup, it's pretty much why I said I wouldn't do it. Last thing I want to do is hack up my brand new OEM parts. If this was years from now with a used Grom, then maybe.

yea, idk I just like to be able to throw the stock parts back on if I want to sell it in a few years, sell my aftermarket shit on the forums, selling a stock bike looks better to most people.

I think it would look way better with the stock end cap back on it even if it was empty.
I agree. I'm not against the general idea. I've done this to plenty of bikes but dress it up a bit. I hate to talk down on your project but that looks bad. Fab up an end cap or re attach the oem cap and I think it will make a world of difference

Ive kinda done the same thing,,,,However you need to cut out the center tube behind all the baffles so that it flows through and not through the baffleing holes..Then straight pipe it and put cap back on..Sounds awesome and no tin can sound..I will post some pics tonight or tomorrow.

I want a full exhaust but thought i would wait to see what comes out over the winter months and if prices drop a bit. With that being said I wanted some sound out of it now so I basicly straight piped my can and am really happy with it.HAs great tone at idle,,sounds like a full pipe when at high rpms and best of all no tin can sound like your prolly going to get with nothing in that huge can.
