Since we are talking cottages and my head hurts from too much sun and beer yesterday, I wanted to share that after nine hours of fishing I caught nothing... Other than a bad sunburn... And a bit of a headache from too much beer.. Found this awesome Canada beer up here that my brother in law suggested named after some train, steam whistle.. Pretty good stuff

This lake has trout and largemouth bass so I thought I'd at least get something. Kinda disappointing.

Were you telling US about cottages? Or did I miss something? Maybe you were telling your beer?

Anyway, hope the day out was enjoyable in any case. I have had steam whistle when I was across the Pond, but it is not exported to the UK though. Trouble with a lot of these special beers is that once exported, they are then made "under licence" and NEVER taste the same, as simple things like water, local ingredients are not identical.

Oh was saying to GregW I'm at a family cottage this weekend.. And it made me think of fishing.

I know what you mean.. I've had sapporo a few times and I expect it's far better in Japan than here. I hear our imported guiness is pretty good though. That and I've been to a few bars while working near Boston that have delicious guiness on tap and it's amazing. I can only imagine it is many times better where you are

Don't drink Guiness. Mix it 50/50 with champagne and it's not too bad; and it p1sses the French AND the Irish off in one glass!!!!!!!!

Wow joe you definitely have some patience. 9 hours and nothing I would of snapped the rod over my head. What bait were you using?

Guiness and a tad bit if condensed milk is awesome. More so an aquired taste but let me tell you its delicious.

Bait? What's bait?

Tried both a plastic lure and some worms. Both failed. Then I just got irritated and drank while floating around. Much more fun.
