First mods I'm looking to do on my grom are bigger wheels and tires extended swing arm and obviously chain and sprockets.. Anyone have luck findin bigger wheels online? I feel like it's gonna be harder to find the part than to install
I've already ordered my custom 2-piece wheels from Evan over at FLP. 12x6 rear, 12x4 in the front. It's the biggest you can go without having to remove/modify fenders, or a custom swingarm. Does involve a new front and rear hubs.First mods I'm looking to do on my grom are bigger wheels and tires extended swing arm and obviously chain and sprockets.. Do you do any research? Or do you prefer not to order from over seas? Cause there is a company that makes a big bore kit all the way up to 210cc. And plenty of parts to make it run as it should. Look up yuminashi.which would bring me to the next step in the project. a big bore kit! lol anytime a reputable company wants to come out with one, im sure im not the only one thats not so patiently waiting
It is way more comfortable than a 600rr, in my opinion.Kinda my thought as well......I'm all for mods but there is only so far you can go before you should get something better suited to your needs. It's like saying I bought a brand new Chevy Cruse to run 1/4 mile drags; you can mod it, supercharge it and throw bigger wheels on it but its still a Cruse no matter how hard you try.
Anyway, I'm 6'3" and go 235lbs and have zero problems fitting in the Grom, I'm surprised its as much of an issue for you guys. I'd even say it can be more comfortable than the RR at times.
Can't wait to see these things when you guts are done, maybe I'll change my thoughts.

Very good advice... I bought this as a toy I can modify.. Throwing functionality out the window. I have a Can-Am spyder for that, and a car for daily transport.here is an idea ... buy a bigger bike ;-)
